Behind the Scenes of a YLF Photoshoot

Now that Inge has returned to Antwerp I'm sorting through all the photos we both took. Several times during the trip we each took a camera (Inge used my older Nikon SLR) and we had fun geeking out about framing and lighting, apertures and ISO settings.

One such occasion was the photoshoot for Angie's most recent outfit post. And I discovered that Inge took some great shots of us in action. So here we are behind the scenes at City Hall. Photos by Inge.

These are truly lovely shots, Greg. Thank you for sharing them. I am especially touched by #5. Inge, you have a great knack for photography, which doesn't surprise me.

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

Fun! Love #5 - you are both so adorable :) Thanks Inge.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

What great photos and seriously you are such and adorable couple!   May I ask a question?   How long would an average shoot take for a post?

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

We FINALLY have photos of Greg. Thanks so much, Inge. I LOVE #1. My Greg has the best dimple and bellowing laugh. #10 made me chuckle.

Debs, probably around an hour - excluding the time it takes to travel to and from the shoot destination. Sometimes longer.

  • Tanya replied 9 years ago

Thank you for sharing these Greg!  So much fun to see how thinks actually work.

  • dashielle (Ann) replied 9 years ago

#1 is adorable and you guys are so cute together! What ever happened to the one Angie took of you (Greg) and Steve at the know, the one she took from out in the back yard ;-)

  • Greg replied 9 years ago

Thanks all. Inge has a great eye.

bj1111, those are my absolute favorite shoes. They are the leather ones. I also have several canvas pairs.

dashielle, the YLF photography department destroyed that photo, all negatives of that photo, and any other photos that came into close proximity of that photo.

  • dashielle (Ann) replied 9 years ago

    That bad, aye?! :-D

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

That makes me the worst photographer in the world.

  • Greg replied 9 years ago

It wasn't the photographer. It wasn't the setting. And it wasn't Steve. Let's just leave it at that shall we.

  • dashielle (Ann) replied 9 years ago

Or, in your favor Angie, Steve and Greg could be the worst subjects. Oops, guess Inge disproved that hypothesis!

  • Runcarla replied 9 years ago

Thanks for the behind the scenes peek.

  • Joyce B replied 9 years ago

Thanks for sharing the great photos.
Inge is not a bad photographer at all, she has a great eye for good pictures.

    Love these!

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

Great pictures, and thank you for sharing them.  I also love to talk geeky photo talk! My newest baby is a Cannon Rebel T3i. My all time favorite SLR was my first - a Pentax K1000. Another favorite DSLR is my brother's older Nikon D60, which I "borrow" every time I go to NJ and visit him :)

Greg, I love your camera bag, it looks very comfortable and roomy - what is the brand?

  • Elly replied 9 years ago

I love seeing you two in action. Inge, I'm glad you captured the pair hard at work/play :)

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

@Inge: Such great photos! You're giving Greg a run for his money. ;)

Greg, it's so much fun to see you in action (for once)! I think I see a dimple on your cheek! You and Angie look so sweet smiling at each other. :)

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

There they are ... The celebrity couple ^_^ ... Priceless pic 5! You guys HAVE to frame it! Fantastic pics Inge! And thanks for sharing Greg .... You have impecabble style ... Just like your wife! Those laceless sneaks are awesome!

Angie .... You sound like a teen head over heels in love with her new found love :D .... Too cute! Talking about dimples .... Aren't they cute on men? DS2 has them ... And he looks super adorable when he smiles! Now I know why all the fabbers who met Greg find him charming ;)

  • deb replied 9 years ago

What fun to see you in action, Greg. Good job, Inge!!!

  • Greg replied 9 years ago

Thanks for all the kind words.

Karie, I actually just described my camera bags on Elly's thread. That particular bag is the Incase DSLR Sling Pack.

Inge took these photos with my older Nikon D90 and a 50mm lens. I switched to your side though and I'm using a Canon 5DIII.

  • replied 9 years ago

Oh, these are fabulous photos! Inge takes a good picture. Love #5 and I like the one where Angie is in the distance doing the victory sign! Wonderful outtakes.

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

I'm glad the YLF photography department let these photos be posted! Very fun and interesting behind the scenes look at a blog photoshoot. Well done, Inge!

  • Inge replied 9 years ago

Thanks for posting these, Greg. And thanks so much everyone for all the kind words. (Angie, I had a hunch you would like a few "Greg pics";-)

I had a ball snapping these photos. It was SO much fun to see Angie and Greg in action during a YLF photo shoot. They are completely in sync, work very efficiently and fast, yet it feels relaxed and there is always time for smiling off-camera too (love it that I managed to capture that in the photos!). Also, they have such an excellent eye for which details, colours, etc. on location work best with the outfit Angie is wearing.

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

Love, love, love the behind the scenes looks!  Thanks for sharing!

  • Isabel replied 9 years ago
