I'm really loving how the home page is connected with the forum now via your posts, Greg. And as always, very much looking forward to your pictures (and stories).

  • Polly (thunalata) replied 13 years ago

I'm with Inge. Wow, suddenly all the home page stuff makes sense - linking in twitter, forum posts, photostream, recent information. A bit like that bit in the Bond movies when the megalomaniac's master plan suddenly becomes clear in all its fiendish cunning. So clever, just so so clever. Wow. Wow. Wow.
[I might be over-reacting a bit here, but never mind! - I'm not comparing you to a dastardly villain, just bowled over by the cleverness of the website redesign]
The photos are fab, by the way.

Fab pictures Greg. Thanks for sharing. I hope we get to see some Angie pics soon. Dying to know what she is wearing--though I'll find out on Friday :D

  • Kari replied 13 years ago

Greg, this is great - what a perfect time to break out the new photo-embedding feature! (Personally, I'll take your candid shots over posed fashion photographs any day - I'm a total fan of people-watching, and I feel like I'm doing exactly that when I'm flipping through these pictures.)

  • Kari replied 13 years ago

Also: I want to steal this woman's outfit from head to toe.

  • Sveta replied 13 years ago

Great pictures, Greg! Thanks for sharing.

  • Mamapicklejuice replied 13 years ago

    Kari - ME TOO!!!!!

  • shell replied 13 years ago

Nice work, Greg! I couldn't help but giggle at the car photo, though. Gotta throw in a manly one somewhere amongst all the fashion photos! :P

  • Kari replied 13 years ago

    MPJ: Somehow I suspected I wasn't alone! ;)

  • replied 13 years ago

I'd look great wearing the Mercedes.

  • Lisa replied 13 years ago

I love anytime there are Greg photos, always a real treat. Keep em coming!

  • Mae replied 13 years ago

    Flip-flop sighting- Photo 2! (Shield Angie's eyes!)

  • Greg replied 13 years ago

    Thanks all.

Maya, the Christian Siriano show had just ended, hence the bag. And no doubt you've already seen the Angie pics on the blog.

Kari, that lady you pointed out was a picture I took during last fashion week. The interesting thing was that she was with some famous guy who was getting all the attention, and he left her standing behind there looking spare, so she started checking her email or something. Personally, I thought she was the one who should be getting attention. :)

EDIT: Angie just pointed out you can see her again in the next picture (behind Robert Verdi, the "famous guy" I referred to)

Shell, you got me. I'm not generally a Mercedes Benz fan, but the two they have in the tent are very pretty.

    Anne... LOL.

  • MNsara replied 13 years ago

Thanks, Greg! These are the next best thing to being there. . .

  • Debbie replied 13 years ago

Love these photos! It makes fashion week come alive. It gives us the whole experience.

  • Sarah replied 13 years ago

Love the photos. I'll take stranded girl's outfit too, please. And the Prada bag....aaaaaaah. Yum.
Some day I think that would be SO fun to just go to NYC during fashion week and see all the pretty people and things.

  • Antje replied 13 years ago

Awesome pics, and I love that they get featured on the home page. Totally draws you in. Nice work, Greg!!

  • Vix replied 13 years ago

Thanks for sharing, Greg -- am loving your people-watchin'!

  • AJ replied 13 years ago

Fab, fab, fab! Thanks for keeping us feeling the FW vibe with all the beyond-the-show photos!

Flip flops? Quick, give Angie a cuppa and Tylenol!

Yep, we'll forgive you for the obligatory car shot. : )

I wonder what NYPD's finest had to do to get assigned to work this gig? ; )

  • bj1111 replied 13 years ago

maybe this feature should be "where's angie" similar to "where's waldo"

  • Scarlet replied 13 years ago

In the photo Kari referred to my first though was it looks like the boot has a gold tooth.

Thank you for doing the photos. They are really fun.

  • Greg replied 13 years ago

We know some people love the audience photos even more than the runway fashion, so here are some shots I took during the Chakra show.

Extra points to the person who finds one of our blogger friends in these pictures.

  • Sparky replied 13 years ago

Oh, isn't that Dianna, the Budget Babe, I see there?

Lots of black outfits, but not all! Thanks for the great pics, Greg.

  • Ana replied 13 years ago

Great photos, Greg! I feel like I'm there with you guys. I love the ones on the blog posts, too. You could have a second career as a fashion magazine photographer.

    Keep them coming!

  • Sihaya replied 13 years ago

Your photos are amazing Greg. Thank you for sharing!

  • marianna replied 13 years ago

Oooh I like the guy in shorts and bowtie! Fun. :)

Great pics! I love people watching. :)

  • Debbie replied 13 years ago

The candid shots are my favorite. Thank you for these.

  • Maya replied 13 years ago

It has to be Budget Babe Dianna because I know she attended the Georges Chakra show too. Is that cheating?

I love that last picture where EVERYONE is looking in one direction, and then that one guy is looking the opposite way. Wonder what caught his attention...

    Thanks Greg!

  • taylor replied 13 years ago

2nd photo..4th and 5th down...both women ..... their FAB shoes and handbags neatly tucked..!!

I love to feel like we are people watching.

  • Laura replied 13 years ago

    This is truly people-watching heaven!

  • Inge replied 13 years ago

I agree with Laura, I'm having a ball here!

(also: it's not my style at all, but that bright-coloured patterned dress - woman in front row with the black hair - is such a stunning look for her).

  • Joy replied 13 years ago

These are as much fun as the runway shots! Thank you, Greg

  • Greg replied 13 years ago

Thuy was a fun show to shoot because I had my pick of positions at the end of (this part of) the runway. Here are some photos that didn't make the cut for the blog entry, but I thought were interesting...

#1 and #2 show my end of the runway in the context of the audience. You can see how this "off site" show held at the Audi Forum was much more intimate than the venues in Lincoln Center.

#3 of the procession at the end illustrates the nightmare that is lighting at these shows. No, the model in the front is not Vulcan (her skin does not have a green cast). It is the lighting at that point in the runway. The model behind her is in a warm yellow light. White balance is impossible.

#4 and #5 are also close-ups of the procession. I thought the similarity in facial expressions was interesting -- I wonder if they have a name for this expression at modeling school. "Aloof disinterest" maybe.

All these pictures also illustrate something else that struck us about the Thuy show. The models were definitely the prettiest we've seen at FW.

  • Sparky replied 13 years ago

Love these pics, Greg ~ they give a really great feel for the entire show.

  • Sveta replied 13 years ago

Greg, what an insight you give us. It's like being there with you. Thank you!

  • Mac replied 13 years ago

Greg, you have real photographic talent! Thanks so much for sharing these photos with us.

  • Kari replied 13 years ago

Wow, what a wonderful variety! Greg, I've got to say that your pictures on the blog posts, especially the EDITION Georges Chakra show, blew me away when I checked for updates after being away all weekend. I can really see how the garments move.

  • Lisa replied 13 years ago

Interesting photos. What a difference lighting can make!

  • Marley replied 13 years ago

These are so much fun to look at! I want a pair of those sunglasses that are in both pics #1 and 2. Also, were all of the models hair pulled off of their foreheads with a barrette or bobby pin? It looks like it!

  • Barbara replied 13 years ago

Nice photos, Greg! Yes, you nailed it. Models are NOT allowed to smile. Aloof disinterest is exactly right. I modeled some as a teen and you were practically banned from the runway if you cracked a smile. It's hard for a Southern gal to NOT grin!
